The store pages for the star wars games in the saber bundle do not state multiplayer as a mode. But I sure it is wrong. Does the multiplayer work in these games, and can the gog version play with steam users?

I was wondering the same thing. I know the original games had multiplayer, the GOG games only list single-player as a game mode. Not buying unless I know for sure it has multiplayer.Imaginary_Llamas

I have been able to play multiplayer with my brother, who has the steam version. There are still a number of servers running by the looks of things.Mr.Whitney

There still are some servers around (which appear in the Internet server list in the game program), and LAN games work too.
The only issues I ever had were: my inability to view available games -even on my own LAN- but it was a firewall issue; the other issue was that the game froze after a few seconds on the (MP) game, the culprit being EAX (after disabling it I never had any issue). I don't know if it's the same for the Steam version, but they usually sell their games without any fixes so I guess both releases are compatible.

If the steam and gog version have both version 1.04, then they can play online. There are even downgrade patches on the steam forums, since there are people which think the older versions are better. So, you have the choice.
And I think OpenJK is at least a port for jedi academy to play with linux users, right?

Well, I can play with bots just fine, and yet, I can't find any servers. Is there anything I am doing wrong by any chance? Like, should I search the 'Internet' section, or 'Local' or 'Favorites' before hitting 'Get a New List'? What should be the correct connection type? ISDN? I would be so happy to be able to play with real people again!
